According to WWE Chief Content Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque, the 36-year-old Bray Wyatt passed away on Thursday.
Wyatt was a professional wrestler regarded for having one of the most unique brains in the industry and pushing the envelope with his inventive characters.
The WWE had been without Wyatt, whose actual name was Windham Rotunda, for a number of months as he dealt with an unspecified health problem.
With the exception of a brief period in 2021 and 2022 when he was unexpectedly let go, he had been a member of WWE since 2009.

Windham Rotunda, also known as Bray Wyatt, abruptly passed away earlier today, Levesque announced on X, formerly known as Twitter, in a call he had received from WWE Hall of Famer Mike Rotunda.

A family of wrestlers was Rotunda’s heritage. His father Mike achieved not just success in WWE but also in other promotions where he went by the names Michael Wallstreet or Irwin R. Schyster.
One of the most well-known wrestlers of the 1980s and the early 1990s, Barry Windham was also a former member of the illustrious Four Horsemen stable. He is Rotunda’s uncle. Taylor, Rotunda’s brother, previously competed as Bo Dallas while wrestling for WWE.

Former WWE ring announcer JoJo Offerman was married to Windham Rotunda. Rotunda also has two children from a prior marriage in addition to their two kids. He had previously held the titles of both WWE and WWE Universal two times each.
Rotunda met Bray Wyatt, a crazed swampland cult leader who attracted followers with a demonic charisma, after beginning in WWE’s developmental program as the character Husky Harris.
After becoming well-known in NXT, WWE’s developmental brand, he and his Wyatt Family—Erick Rowan and the late Luke Harper, whose real name was Jonathan Huber—came to the WWE main roster in 2014 to considerable hoopla.

At that time, Rotunda was regarded as one of the cast’s most talented actors, especially when it comes to sharing a narrative aloud.
He started utilizing the expression “follow the buzzards” and the song line “he’s got the whole world in his hands.” Fans would hold up their cellphone lights as his ominous music played throughout his entrances, with the arena completely dark before he came with a lantern.
As The Fiend, a demonic figure from a 2019 horror film, Rotunda transformed himself, donning a horrific clown face. A demonic alter ego known as The Fiend battled in place of Bray Wyatt in the family-friendly farce known as Firefly Funhouse.
Mostly by himself, Rotunda came up with these complex, original concepts. Due to its near invulnerability in the ring, The Fiend’s character caused controversy, but it was an original leap and one of the most intriguing things to appear on WWE television at the time.

The old Bray Wyatt, a good-guy figure who was reportedly haunted by former demons like The Fiend and Uncle Howdy, was played by Rotunda when he returned to WWE in 2018. He had previously been dismissed from WWE in 2021.
In February, when Rotunda stopped appearing on television because to health problems, the plot was still being developed.
