Here are some of the known symptoms of statis dermatitis that is greatly or could easily be identified on your skin that could tell that you have the skin disease.  Also, with these facts, you get to know the proper treatments and preventions that could help alleviate the signs and symptoms of the skin condition.

What It Is

If you have statis dermatitis, what it greatly affects are the legs which may appear to have red and often itchy rash on that lower part of your body.  Usually, the statis dermatitis often occurs after a long term swelling of the legs which could be caused by poor blood circulation.

And because of the poor circulation of blood flow from the lower legs back to your heart, it causes the swelling of the lower legs and if that occurs, it could trigger the signs and symptoms of statis dermatitis which are red bumps that are disturbingly itchy.  But before that could happen, the skin on your lower leg would first be discolored and then the rashes would develop mostly on the shins, and at times, sores could also be one of the results of it.

Other Telling Signs

Since statis dermatitis is the result of improper or poor circulation of blood on your legs, there are also other telling signs which could determine if you have that kind of skin disease.  The appearance of varicose veins which are caused by damaged to the valves, blood clots, kidney failure, congestive heart failure, and chronic leg swelling may be associated with statis dermatitis.

What you could do to prevent yourself from having this kind of skin condition on your legs is to keep your legs from swelling and it could be done by stretching, regular exercise, wearing compression stockings to help with the circulation, and elevating the legs while resting.  If you feel like you are suffering from statis dermatitis, always remember that is always best to contact a medical professional first for proper diagnosis and treatment.
