Cancer Treatment Can Offer Hope
Researchers are constantly at
work trying to find effective cures for cancer. Many people simply
decide to go with the first course of treatment that their oncologist
suggests, instead of getting a second opinion or doing research into an
alternative cancer treatment. It’s your body and your responsibility,
so it’s wise to take the time to really understand the success rate of
the treatment plan.
When you start looking into alternative medicine, you have probably
reached the end of your rope. One of my friends, we will
call her Mary, has been diagnosed with lung cancer. Everything
that she has tried has failed, and the doctors have given her a year or
less to live. She has been looking into alternative cancer
treatment.
Now, for every possible crackpot alternative cancer treatment that you
can imagine, there are probably two or three in reality. There is
even an organization – I think it is called the alternative cancer
treatment instituted or something like that – that is run by all these
crackpot schemes to exploit the hope of dying people. There are
alternative cancer treatments that involve everything from herbs, to
diets, to fasts, to so-called healing touch.
Being diagnosed with cancer is a life changing event. You are never
ready to hear that you have cancer regardless of your age. Once the
news has had time to sink in, you’ll need to consider the different
treatment options available to you. Your doctor will always recommend
the standard medical approaches such as surgery and chemotherapy, but
nevers asks you to consider an alternative cancer treatment.
The best thing you can do in this situation is to listen to their
suggestion and then make some enquiries about alternative medicine
treatments. Although an alternative cancer treatment may have proven
effective for someone with skin cancer, it may do little for a woman
suffering from breast cancer. It’s really important that you understand
what type of malignancy the alternative treatment is designed for.
Some doctors believe that more research needs to be done, but claim
that at least one form of herbal alternative cancer treatment offers
great hope of recovery in some cases. Personally,I don't
know. But I think that it is very important to check out all
options open to someone who is suffering.
The fact is that doctors want to do everything that they can to make
sure that their patients do well. Sometimes they have such a strong
belief that it compromises their ability to act as a scientist if they
recommend alternative cancer treatments.
